·         A Medical Release Form must be turned in for each Sparky attending camp; even if the A/L/P is a parent of the Sparky. Medical Release Forms may be sent with the Registration forms or can be turned in at check-in the day of camp. No Sparky will be allowed to attend camp without having turned in a Medical Release Form.

·         Sparkies will participate in several fun, exciting, and active games played indoors on thegym floor. Please dress your child appropriately. Please no smooth-soled shoes, flip-flopsor loose fitting sandals. If your daughter must wear a dress/skirt, please have them wear shorts under it for modesty reasons.

·         Our lunch consists of a sandwich, bag of chips, fruit, and a drink provided by a professional caterer.  If your child has any special dietary needs, please let us know on the Registration Form so arrangements can be made.

Camp-a-Rama FAQs PDF Print E-mail

Q: Can a Sparky's brother or sister attend camp with them?

A: Only if they meet the camp qualifications (completed all 3 Sparks handbooks, and are in the second grade as well.)

Q: What is an A/L/P and what do they do?

A: An A/L/P is an Adult (over 18), Parent, or Awana Leader who accompanies the Sparkies throughout the day. We refer to them as “big Sparkies” because they do everything the Sparkies do. Camp staff will have the primary responsibility for crowd control, but we ask that A/L/Ps assist as needed with the Sparkies they are accompanying.

Q: Is the number of A/L/Ps that can attend limited?

A: No. There must be at least one A/L/P for every one to four Sparkies. It is permissible to have 4 Sparkies and 4 A/L/Ps attend. Although not required, you may want to consider having same gender A/L/Ps as the Sparks they will be accompanying.

Q: Does the A/L/P attend for free?

A: No. "Big Sparkies" pay the same Registration Fee as the other Sparkies.

Q: If a Sparky can not make it to camp this year (illness, etc.) will they be able to attend next year?

A: No. This is the ONLY day the Sparky can attend Sparks Camp as a child. We understand there may be other activities competing for your child’s attention (baseball, fairs, or other activities) the day of Camp-a-Rama, but they will be able to attend those at another time. Sparks Camp-a-rama is a special day set aside to honor those Sparkies who have completed all three Sparks handbooks before entering 3rd grade.

NOTE: When a child finishes all three Sparks handbooks, they will have memorized 85 verses, and recited 166 times – nearly every one twice. We want to recognize them for this outstanding achievement.

Q: What if it rains the day of camp?

A: Camp will be held rain or shine (pray for shine). Contingencies are in place to hold the normal outdoor activities indoors if needed.
