Our Regional Training Sessions are open to all churches. Any Awana Leader recently recruited or previous Leader interested in additional training are welcome to attend. The Leader Certification process requires four parts: 1) Orientation Training 2) Role Training (pass the Role Test) 3) Hands-on training 4) Quoting 6 specific memory verses Orientation Training delves into the importance of evangelism, and presents a useful tool called The Gospel Wheel. It is presented regionally in the summer months. However, each church may buy its own Orientation Training materials and train its own leaders. Role Training teaches the "How to" for each of the roles in an Awana Club - from Pastor, through Commander, Directors, Leaders, Game Leaders, and Secretaries. There is Director and Leader training specific to each club from Cubbies all the way up to Journey 24/7. Role Training is presented at the regional Fall Conference (usually in October), but the training is built for self-help, self-paced training. Leaders who come to Fall Conference to get Role Training must bring their own Role Book. |
